It’s not April 1st, but we’re certainly getting a lot of laughs from Goggle’s new announcement. They are saying that the new operating system for Android will be nicknamed KitKat, in cooperation with its partnership with the candy company. A direct quote from Greg Sterling of MarketingLand:

“It should significantly raise the profile and boost sales of KitKat in the short term. There will be a ton of coverage in newspapers and TV, which will drive sales. The Nexus/Google Play promotion will also drive sales.” Read the full article →

In segment 2 of episode 17, we debate on who would be harder to replace, Google’s Sergey Brin and Larry Page or Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg. Granted, Google is at a more advanced and mature stage of its history, while Facebook remains fairly young. And while Page and Brin recruited Eric Schmidt to run the company and manage its high-growth days (with Page returning to the CEO helm when Schmidt stepped down), Zuckerberg has never left the CEO spot.
