Now that 2010 is here, we can expect to see the Google Caffeine algorithm start affecting search results. And as Jim Boykin pointed out, the algorithm favors diverse content such as a press releases.
Well, in this clip left over form Pubcom 2009, NVI spoke with Jiyan Wei of PRWeb.com. Jiyan discussed how to get press releases to rank in Google News, and touched on two interesting points: (1) PRWeb.com has noticed a 24-48 hour news and blended search results life-cycle, where it’s easier for content to rank for the first few days after it’s been indexed; and (2) the way a press releases is formatted can be enough to get it either included in or excluded from the Google News search results.
