Just Local Ads – a Charity Musical Tribute to Dennis Yu

Missy Ward ran a number of silent auctions last month to raise funds for the 40-mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, which took place in Los Angeles last week.

One of the auctions was for a customized song on the Affiliate Thing podcast. This song appeared on the September 21 edition of Affiliate Thing.

I scratched up the lyrics and sang a song, “Just Local Ads”, for the winner, Dennis Yu, co-founder and CEO of BlitzLocal.com.

The song is to the tune of “Just a Friend” by Biz Markie.

Have you ever had a lead that you tried to get
Talked to other agencies, they wanted you to wait

The way that I met him was online through ShoeMoney
He had a good rep with his BlitzLocal.com
I hit him up on Facebook about the leads I could get
Running local ads on Google, that made my appetite whet

I asked him a couple times if his results were the truth
I had a bunch of questions to see if it was hundred proof
How about local lingerie leads, you know, blah-blah-blah
Customers wanting 9/10 pants and a very big bra

He said he could optimize and I was enthused
He said quality and quantity
And I was very amused

I started throwin’ bass, he started throwin’ back mid-range
But when I sprung the question, he acted kind of strange
Then when I asked, is this all for free, he didn’t pretend
He said, no it’s not, you’ve got to pay a fee

OK, looks great, so I’m going for it
