Episode 29 of GeekCast brings together the “normal” (debatable) crew of Lisa Picarille, Jim Kukral, Shawn Collins and Sam Harrelson to discuss the latest, greatest and shiniest in the world of geek marketing.

The conversation begins with a discussion of Twitter and the earthquake just outside of Los Angeles and quickly steers into the geeky, the theoretical and the absurd in typical GeekCast fashion.

Don’t miss the new GeekCast Theme Song by Jim Kukral and his beloved uke.

-Hasboro and Scrabulous

That was the best intro music ever!

That and the boiled peanuts picture may well result in this being the lowest rated GeekCast ever.

And it sort of deserves it with the Fart Cake talk at the end.

C'mon that was about 1000 percent better than bongos.

That is, quite possibly, the fanciest boiled peanut stand I've ever seen!

Google Maps provides turn-by-turn direction on both the iphone and the BB. Most people mean voice turn by turn navigation like incar GPS devices. Google Maps doesn't provide voice directions but they are visible in the directions and on the map.

Google Maps turn-by-turn without audio is pretty useless to a solo driver IMHO.

It has gotten me around Italy, Sicily, ,UK, Germany and Austria – not to mention the US without a problem. Way better than nothing.

You were using it while driving by yourself all those times?

Recently in Austria and in the US. Especially when headed down to LA. It follows your progress by GPS on your route and then when it is time to turn, it shows you the info. Really easy – I can't live without it. So easy to find places without having to ask or search from home.

Yeah, it's tried it, but found I was a hazard on the road trying to track it in places where I wasn't familiar driving.

Why not just bring a real, talking GPS with you?

Screen is too small for using as more than a phone and email client – although the Google maps app will work well enough on it. I choose iPhone 3G. It now supports push email, calendar and contact synching plus it offers more than BB will ever be able to offer.

OMG! As I'm visiting SC right now and had lived here for a few years in my teens I have to say boiled peanuts rank right up the with collard greens as being the most inedible food there is. And there is a freaking stand on every corner here!

Boiled peanuts are fantastic! Especially after a long day out on the water, scallopin' or fishin'. Yee Haw!

Seriously, boiled peanuts rock!
