This is a clip of Quinn Jacobson, a research leader at Nokia’s research centre in Palo Alto. He’s a little awkward and rehearsed in front of the camera, but we can’t all be video-blogging-rock-stars
Quinn heads up the Traffic Works program, and like Nokia’s NFC program, Traffic Works is a hybrid of technologies. Essentially, it uses the GPS (and possibly NFC) on other phones to feed your mobile devices with traffic reports. For instance, if your phone notices that a lot of other phones are clustered up ahead on the road, it can tell you that traffic is thick, and then suggest alternate routes.
