Lisa Picarille hosted and was joined by Kellie Stevens.
Kellie is the founder and president of AffiliateFairPlay.com, which does research to advocate for fair trade policies within the online marketing industry and provide education to Merchants and Affiliates regarding current revenue generating practices. Previously, Kellie worked in the healthcare industry for nearly two decades. During that time, she worked extensively with Quality Assurance aspects of that Industry including fraud detection/prevention, policy, standards and protocol development, data collection/interpretation and testing.
We kicked off the discussion by talking about the basics of cookie stuffing and then moved onto the high-profile eBay cookie stuffing court case. After a brief overview of the case, we got into the benefits of establishing a profile of bad behavior, what eBay eventually did to determine the extent of the cookie stuffing, the need for coordination between the networks and merchants in compliance monitoring, addressing conflicts of interest, the importance of quality assurance as well as compliance, the need for objective compliance measures and actions and much more.
