Affiliate Marketing Fanatics Episode 2: Sweet Success

by Trisha Lyn Fawver on March 12, 2009

Affiliate Marketing Fanatics – A Publisher (Mike Buechele) and an Affiliate Manager  (Trisha Lyn Fawver) talk about all things Affiliate Marketing.  From blogging to branding, social media to search, video and more!

Success!  After some trials and tribulations with Skype, wookies, Call Graph, Pamela, and a totally un-listenable recording from earlier in the week, we finally have a decent episode!  HUGE shout out and thanks to Joe Magennis of Geek Dads @ Home for some great step-by-step instructions to help a couple of fledgling podcasters out!  We still had some issues with sound quality but I think I got most of those out in the edit.  So, without further ado take a listen.

Nice to see you guys back on the “air”

I understand them wanted to change their name and expanding their business, but Lurn is just a dumb name to me, people know it by Affiliate Classroom and Lurn just doesn't fit.

Hi James!
I expanded on it more over at my blog and my initial reaction and thoughts. I'm surprised that more people have mentioned the re-branding anywhere; I can't imagine that I was they only person they told! lol

Hey Trisha –

I was manually pasting my blog posts to MySpace up until a few weeks ago, but finally cut it off.

I used to get decent traffic on the version of my blog there, but the numbers have been shrinking.

And Facebook has way more of my business contacts.

Yeah, I don't bother with MySpace for business in the least… it's all my personal friends and I've purposefully kept it that way. I'd never bother putting more than a link to my business sites on MySpace… just not the right audience.

Great show! I really liked your discussion about the WP themes. I think it's a good thing that people are kind of "taking sides" and promoting different paid themes. Otherwise, too many sites would look identical. I've got Thesis on a number of sites but have customized a couple of them so that they look completely different. ____So bummed that we didn't get to hear the last take of show 2. I'm sure that it was the BEST podcast EVER!!
